Dr. Elizabeth Hughston, CEO
Dr. Elizabeth Hughston has a BA in Natural Sciences from Thomas Edison State College, in Trenton, New Jersey and an MFA in Digital Cinema from National University, located in San Diego, California. She holds an ND, DM, and NMDs degree from Central States College of Health Sciences, School of Naturopathic Medicine. She is a Diplomate of the National Board of Examiners for Naturopathic Quality Assurance. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Functional Medicine. Additionally, she is a Fellow of the American Academy of Functional Medicine. She is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Clinical Thermography and a Fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Thermography. She is also a candidate for the PhD degree. She is certificated in Web Design and Graphic Design. She has worked in the health care field for more than three decades. Currently, her focus is on energy medicine, metabolic and hormonal issues, women’s health issues, gastrointestinal issues, nutrition and prevention. She is proficient in utilizing a unique approach of meridian digital analysis that assesses and documents the vital energy that traverses the energy meridians in the body. She also serves as CEO of BioPreventics Research, LLC, a nutraceutical company that specializes in immune modulators and other unique nutraceuticals. In the past, she has served as secretary for the Florida Association of Naturopathic Medicine, and has also served on the Community Advisory Council of the Arts Partnership of Greater Spartanburg. She is a member of the American Institute of Naturopathic Medicine and the American Manual Medicine Association. She has also previously served as a board member of the South Carolina Hispanic Leadership Council and was its webmaster. She has a great love for the study of vital energy, clinical nutrition, arts and literature, cultural studies, and the outdoors, nature and animals.
Dr. Lad Santiago, Director of Clinical Services
Dr. Lad Santiago received his B.A. degree in Molecular Biology from Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut. He completed his premedical education at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. After receiving his D.C. degree, he completed his postgraduate education in Preventive Medicine at which time he received a Diplomate in Preventive Medicine from the Florida Institute of Technology and the International Preventive Medicine Foundation in Melbourne, Florida. He also received the ND, DM, and NMD degrees from Central States College of Health Sciences. In addition, he has received two MFA degrees from National University in San Diego, California. Currently, he is a candidate for the MPhil and PhD degrees, near completion. He has four post graduate board certifications: Functional Medicine, Integrative Medicine, Clinical Nutrition and Clinical Thermography. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Functional Medicine and is a Senior Fellow in Functional Medicine from the American Academy of Functional Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Functional Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Integrative Medicine. Additionally, he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Thermography. He is a Diplomate of the College of Clinical Nutrition from the American Association of Integrative Medicine. He holds a Diplomate in Clinical Nutrition from the ACA Chiropractic Board of Clinical Nutrition. He is a Fellow of the American College of Wellness Doctors. Recently, he has also completed a postgraduate educational series in Lifestyle Medicine from Harvard Medical School. Moreover, he holds other clinical certifications, and has decades of clinical experience. He serves as the Director of Clinical Services for Upstate Clinical Associates, a facility focusing on Functional Medicine, Integrative Medicine, and Nutritional Medicine. He serves as President of the American Board of Functional Medicine and President of the American Academy of Functional Medicine. He presently serves as Secretary of the Chiropractic Board of Clinical Nutrition and as chairman of its Education Committee. He is Vice-President of Research and Development for BioPreventics Research, a national nutriceutical company that specializes in immune modulators. He is a member of the American Academy of Functional Medicine, and the American Association of Integrative Medicine, and the American Academy of Clinical Thermography.
Ryan Ansley, Director of Exercise Therapy
Ryan Ansley attended Brevard College in Brevard, North Carolina, receiving a B.A. degree. After college, he pursued a degree at National University in La Jolla, California and earned an M.F.A.. Thereafter, he pursued an education in healthcare through the International Sports Sciences Association, becoming a certified fitness trainer. He served an internship at Inspyre Health, a multi-disciplinary health clinic embracing Functional Medicine, Integrative Medicine, Natural Medicine, Wellness Medicine and Lifestyle Medicine. He has also received postgraduate specialty certifications in exercise therapy and exercise nutrition. He is board qualified for the National Board of Fitness Examiners. He is First Aid, AED and CPR certified through the American Heart Association. He is a member of the International Sports Sciences Association.
Emily M. Calero, Community Outreach Coordinator
Emily Calero is a graduate of Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. She received her B.A. degree with a double major in International Studies with a concentration in Latin American and Caribbean Studies, and Hispanic Studies. She is a sports enthusiast, having played rugby in college. She has a great interest in health, nutrition and fitness, and also serves as a counselor patient advocate.
